Earth Day Greenhouse Tours and Planting Day

Lakewood is excited to welcome you to learn about the history of our greenhouses, and to take a behind-the-scenes look at our greenhouse operations!

On Saturday, April 22nd, we will be offering free, 30-minute guided tours of our greenhouses. See what we have in store for this spring’s flower beds, and learn more about the long history of Lakewood’s greenhouse operations. You can even put your green thumb to work! Stick around after the tour to plant your own potted plant arrangement to take home.

Capacity is limited, and registration is required for this event. See below to register for your specific tour. (Tours depart on the half-hour.)

Event highlights

·         Guided tours of Lakewood’s greenhouses

·         Opportunity to learn more about the long history of Lakewood’s greenhouses, and about current operations and groundskeeping at Lakewood

·         Planting activity is fun for all ages, and you will get to take home your own potted plant arrangement

·         Self-guided tour brochures of the cemetery available, so you can make a day of it!

Pick up your tour tickets at the Welcome Tent on the greenspace to the left of Lakewood’s entrance at least 15 minutes prior to your tour’s scheduled departure time.

Parking is available along roads in the cemetery near the Administration Building.

ADA accessibility: We are sorry, Lakewood’s greenhouses are not ADA accessible. We cannot accommodate ADA accessibility for this event.

Please note that an optional $5 donation will be requested to contribute to the long-term care of the cemetery.
